DOUGLAS TIMID ON MARIJUANA BILL
Gov. Douglas says that making medical marijuana available to sick
and suffering people who will benefit from it "sends a dangerous
message to children."
The evidence for the effectiveness of marijuana in treating symptoms of
AIDS, cancer and multiple sclerosis is about as unproven as the evidence
that aspirin alleviates head and muscle aches.
Mindlessly clinging to anti-medical marijuana rhetoric for the sake of
political expediency and to maintain "tough on drugs"
credentials while people needlessly suffer sends a despicable message to
children.
Vermonters should be embarassed to have such a vile man for a governor.
