(Cannabis - Canada)
Cochrane has built a reputation of being a warm, neighbourly town, and a great
place to raise a family.
But, without a doubt, there are at least three homeowners who can leave town
right now, and no one will shed any tears.
Quite frankly, the good people of Cochrane have no desire to see anyone running
a marijuana grow operation on their street, in their neighbourhood, or in their
town.
So, don't let the door hit your backside on the way out, but do get out.
While we have watched grow-ops busted in Calgary on a regular basis, and even
watched, some with smugness, at all the busts in Chestermere in the past couple
of years, Cochrane has remained relatively quiet.
That changed last week when three Cochrane homes were found with marijuana
grow-ops inside.
And, regardless of your take on decriminalizing marijuana, grow-ops pose a
signifcant danger. Just look at all the gang-related deaths in Calgary
this year alone.
Kudos to the Cochrane RCMP, in conjunction with the Calgary Police, for shutting
down these dangerous operations on our streets and in our neighbourhoods.
And, one of the best ways to fight such a scourge? Get to know your neighbours,
and keep an eye out for each other.
And, pray that one day, our justice system will start sending a message to these
scum that our society won't accept this kind of thing anymore.
