FIGHTING CRIME AT THE POLICE STATION
Your article about the thefts from the Memphis Police property room (
June 23, "Evidence theft near $3 million" ) is a good example
of the kind of people who are being hired by our city officials - and it
makes you wonder whether maybe some of the officials themselves were
getting a cut of the loot.
Those who are in charge of the property and evidence room should put
ironclad security rules and procedures into practice so that this cannot
happen again.
These kinds of people are another reason that people are moving out of
Memphis - it's not just high taxes.
