SEQUEL PLANNED TO 'ICE' DOCUMENTARY
The Pacific Arts Foundation has won a $50,000 matching grant from the
Harold K.L. Castle Foundation for a sequel to "Ice: Hawaii's
Crystal Meth Epidemic," the one-hour documentary that across Hawaii
last September on 11 TV stations.
"Our mission," foundation director Terry George said, "is
to build resources for Hawaii's future. Crystal methamphetamine
threatens Hawaii's most precious resource: our children and our
families."
Pre-production of the sequel, "Life or Meth: Hawaii's Youth,"
has already begun. The film will be broadcast on several stations
this fall.
"The film will examine why, after twenty years, Hawaii's youth are
still choosing to pick up this extremely dangerous and highly addictive
drug," said producer Jeff Mueller.
This will be the sixth feature documentary film made in and about Hawaii
by Edgy Lee.
The Pacific Arts Foundation is asking for matching contributions which
are tax deductible. For information: ( 808 ) 585-9005, extension
